Imposter Syndrome in the Academic Job Search Panel
November 9, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
You are all invited to attend the Imposter Syndrome in the Academic Job Search Panel presented by the Scientists of Color and Ally Leadership (SoCAL) on Thursday, November, 9th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the Thorp Conference Center on the 4th floor of Gross Hall. This event marks the launch of SoCAL, a collective of scientists and engineers who believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are critically important values to maintain and push forward in STEM. This group is meant to include any STEM or STEM-related graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and faculty. It is intended to create a space for mentorship, professional development, and networking for scientists and engineers across all disciplines.
The purpose of the Imposter Syndrome in the Academic Job Search Panel discussion is for assistant and associate professors from underrepresented backgrounds to discuss their experiences going through the academic job search process and how they coped with this stress and imposter syndrome that comes along with it.
Food and drinks will be provided. Please make sure to register by Friday November 3rd by clicking the link here or on the attached flyer so we can finalize food and drink for the event.
