REGISTER TODAY!The University at Buffalo Undergraduate Research Conference is excited to announce this year’s keynote speaker, Stephen Santa-Ramirez, PhD. As a first-generation college graduate with intersectional marginalized identities, Dr. Stephen Santa-Ramirez’s (he/him) personal and professional experiences in higher education have played formative roles in developing his research agenda, which broadly investigates the ideological, historical, and structural inequalities that impact racially minoritized, economically neglected, and migrant communities. More specifically, by employing critical and asset-based frameworks, he centers on campus racial climate, transitions and belongingness of first-generation students of color, college student activism and resistance, and the various ways race, ethnicity, and immigration policies inform the experiences of undocumented collegians. Visit our website to learn more about Dr. Santa Ramirez and his work. Dr. Santa-Ramirez will present “Research, Me-search, and everything in-between: Centering Equity, Belongingness, and Humanizing Research.” Details and information about daily events are available in the online agenda.
